Women in Construction Week Feature - Becky Potter, Solid, LLC

1) What is your job title? 
Accounting Manager at Solid

2) What do you love about remodeling? 
In remodeling no two projects are the same. I love the variety this brings to both my job and the industry. When people are willing to invest in remodeling their home they usually love their community and neighbors and being able to create the spaces that keep them in those communities is really rewarding. People taking pride in their homes and communities gives me hope amidst challenging times.

3) Why is it important for women to be a part of the industry? 
I think representation matters. Every young kid should be able to look at any job and see someone that looks like them. I started in construction over 20 years ago as a carpenter in the field, their weren’t many women in the field or on jobsites. Many times that is still the case although it is slowly changing. I am proud to be in the construction industry and hope that I have made a difference or encouraged at least one other person to do something even when they might be the only one like themselves doing it!!
