Production Manager

Production Manager – Residential Remodeling
Bluestem Remodeling  |  Saint Louis Park, MN
$90,000 – $125,000 per year  •  Full-Time  •  In-Person
•    Are you an experienced remodeling professional who combines technical building knowledge with strong leadership and operational follow-through?
•    Can you see problems before they happen and lead projects forward with clarity, organization, and accountability?
If so, Bluestem Remodeling may be the right next step in your production leadership career.
About the Role
Bluestem Remodeling is seeking a Production Manager to lead the execution of residential remodeling projects from pre-construction through completion. The role combines production leadership, field operations, scheduling, purchasing, subcontractor coordination, and operational accountability.
This is a hands-on leadership role. The right person leads through competence and follow-through — equally comfortable building a Gantt chart, walking a job site, solving a sequencing problem with a sub, or expediting a material delivery when that’s what the project needs. No task is beneath leadership if it keeps the work moving.
We’re open to backgrounds including residential remodeling project management, production management, lead carpentry, site supervision, design-build, or custom residential construction.

Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership
•    Own day-to-day execution, sequencing, and field accountability across active projects
•    Spot and solve production issues proactively, before they grow
•    Lead field coordination and subcontractor performance
Scheduling & Coordination
•    Build and maintain detailed construction schedules and Gantt charts
•    Coordinate subcontractors, purchasing, material deliveries, and inspections
•    Communicate scheduling risks and sequencing conflicts early
Budget & Cost Management
•    Participate in estimating, pre-construction planning, and project budgeting
•    Monitor project costs, labor performance, and change orders
•    Identify budget risks and scope gaps early
Systems & Quality
•    Work within Buildertrend (or similar) for scheduling, documentation, and communication
•    Maintain quality expectations and jobsite standards across all phases
•    Help improve our operational systems, scheduling practices, and production processes over time
•    Be open to evolving construction technology, including AI-assisted tools that support organization and execution

Qualifications
Required
•    5+ years in residential remodeling, custom residential construction, or design-build
•    4+ years in construction leadership, project management, or production management
•    Strong understanding of construction sequencing, remodeling logistics, and residential building systems
•    Proven scheduling skills, including Gantt chart scheduling and production planning
•    Ability to manage multiple active remodeling projects simultaneously
•    Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
•    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred
•    2+ years with construction project management software (Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, JobTread, or similar)
•    Experience with remodeling estimating, budgeting, and job cost control
•    Field carpentry or hands-on remodeling background
